No. I played it for a bit on the PS3 but then I started to play some other games and I haven't continued.

This being one of those really weird and old PS2 action games, I doubt it was gonna sell well either way, but that marketing didn't help.

Just bought Tales of Vesperia on Steam, and started it last night.

Yeah I suppose it would've been compared to DMC anyway. A lot of action games were even without some stupid slogan by the mechanically blind.

I really see it as the perfect sword action game. I thought about how Neo Contra has a cutscene where a samurai cuts a planet in half and how Shinobi [PS2] really plays out like that's a possibility. Glad I played it after the other top contenders.

Plan to buy that new Fairy Tail rpg on PS4. Don't like the anime but this is made by Gust so I'm in. Battle system looks interesting but I can't find any in depth info at the moment.

I bought some stuff here and there but I think I will just list these two: Days Gone and Star Wars Fallen Order.
Fallen Order: I remember some people here really liking this game so I got it. I wouldn't say I am a big Souls fan though. I got the click of it months ago but I do wish it was faster(I am glad I got Nioh). I thought I would bump the framerate up and it works most of the time.

Days Gone: I wanted a pure action zombie game. I don't too much about this but I get the feeling the majority of undead games has to have some survival element. Any other game I have that has the undead as an enemy also has other types of enemies. From what I played so far, I don't think I will be getting what I wanted.

Got Fairy Tail. I'll make a topic later. Just trying to get through the tutorial stage.

I finally got Dawn of Dreams and Genma Onimusha. I also purchased the two GOW collections for the PS3 and the Mega Man Collection. I also got Prince of Persia Warrior Within. Should I get Ghost Of Sparta and The Two Thrones?

I replayed TTT last year on Hard mode. It's alright. However, it repeats a lot of things in gameplay while trying to work Arabic magic storytelling and I felt in the end it could do more with less. Bosses are nowhere near (Japanese) ingenuity. And I went for stealth kills wherever I could and shunned standard fights. The Dark Prince is highly entertaining, though.

The Two Thrones is ... a mistake. You can feel that they felt the pressure after WW's negative (initial) reception and just tried to make Sands of Time again under extreme time pressure. Dark Prince is fun storywise, not mechanically imo. Warrior Within is by far the best title in terms of platforming, exploration and especially combat.

I did purchase the Onimusha games a few weeks ago and intend to play them after I finish Sekiro. Unfortunately, I am unable to find a copy of Genma Onimusha and it wouldn't have mattered because some philistine sold my old XBOX, so I can't play NGB anymore either.

My current to-play catalog is so backed up right now, it's absurd. I think I still need to play Viewtiful Joe and Eternal Darkness and replay a few others, but I get distracted by too many other things.

Note that Onimusha Warlords is also great, but Genma really is just a superior version I feel in basically every way possible. One of those few remasters that absolutely trumps the original, skippable cutscenes alone make it worth the while.

Microsoft will pick up the backwards-compatible program again when the Xbox Series X launches, so I hope Genma Onimusha will be planned for it as well.

Anyone play any of the Disgaea games?

Got Disgaea 4 Complete+. It was on sale for $29, down from $90. Traded in some old games that more than covered it.

I was going to get Disgaea 5 but there's no complete version on the PS4 and the season pass is around $60. Piss off. The Switch got the complete version. I hate Nintendo. Will wait and see if PS4 gets it. It got FF12 and Dragon Quest so it's possible.

Curious to hear your take on Disgae, a friend of mine speaks quite highly of them but I think that's more because of the art-style. Never really saw someone go deep into them as it were.

I have the Japanese version but there were some things I couldn't figure out. That's why the PAL version is useful to me. It's inferior but I'll be able to see what all the items and equipment do. Years ago I had a mechanics guide planned but lost all my notes.

I'm willing to give open world games a try to see if they have any worthy mechanics, but not at full price.

Looks decent but I have little interest if there's no customization.

Read there is a knockback feature. You can send enemies into others.

Edit: did some more research and there's equipment and enchantments you can add. Will look more into this. Would be insane if you could knockback or throw enemies with status effect into others and chain the effect.

Over the last few weeks I got Nioh 2, Doom Eternal, Yakuza 7 and Kiwami, W101 Remastered(I was genuinely surprised when I saw it), Samurai Warriors 4 Empires, Pacman Vs Pacman World 2, Odama, Tumblestone, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, NES Remix Pack, LBG3, Transformers Devastation, and Okami HD.

Got Sakuna, TW101 Remastered, and Dark Rose Valkyrie.

Got halfway through this video and know I'm buying Monster Sanctuary when I get home. Tons of monsters and customization.

I bought Hades in the Epic Store sale on PC. Heard so much good stuff about it that I just had to try it. They have a promotion on at the moment where you get given a $10 coupon (or £10 in my case) for having an account, and every time you use it, they give you another. Picked up Hades for £8.99, I think it was.

This has left me with another coupon, and I'm tempted to use it to pick up Samurai Jack, which would end up costing about £12. Seems too good a deal to pass up as I haven't seen it go cheaper than £20 yet.

Samurai Jack really is worth it imo, just such a fun game that brought back so many PS2-era memories.

I decided to buy it - I have seen some gameplay before and it does look like a throwback to the golden era of action.

Also decided to get Stranglehold as it's very cheap at the moment ( https://www.gog.com/game/stranglehold ). I remember playing the demo back when it was new on 360/PS3, but never tried the whole game. Looks like it could be fun.

The shmup talk going on in other threads got me a bit excited, so I bought a couple of games in the Steam sale - Psyvariar Delta, and Crimzon Clover - World Ignition. I've not got much experience with the genre at all, but I'm hoping I'll enjoy them.

I also came across this video on Saur's channel of him playing Psyvariar 2. I have no idea what's happening but it looks fascinating:

Crimzon Clover is really cool, I have the Switch version but it's highway robbery for $2.50 on Steam right now. Very much in the style of games by the developer CAVE, and made by a high-level shmup player (Clover-TAC) who has held multiple scoring WRs for CAVE games.

I would recommend going for Novice Mode no continues, the Switch version Novice Mode is a bit harder than the Steam one and I (as a still new shmup player) could see myself getting a 1cc on it with time and effort, so the Steam Novice Mode is probably a great place to start.

I bought Onimusha and the Bioshock collection just to get rid of them on the PS3. My TV can't use the audio component cables anymore. Currently, I am walking around a multiplayer map by myself. I wonder what everyone thinks of bots?

I'd really like to purchase top-down Shoot Em Ups like 1940 series and Varth. I'm also thinking of going back to the OLD Playstation Store and buy an imported game. The last time I checked after it was replaced, it was delisted not deleted. Edit: The old site still works but I can't decide what to get.

Bots are essential in my book and I'm always surprised when they are absent. Sometimes you want to just practice a map, or relax but still play the multiplayer. In such cases an AI is great to just derp around. Have a ton of good memories playing against bots in Nightfire and later-on in Black Ops 1, not to mention Unreal.

Also makes it so that a part of a game just doesn't straight up vanish in 2-5 years depending on game. I really loved the multiplayer in World at War but that game is a mess now online sadly.

Honestly, none as it looks. I'm eyeing a few Dreamcast titles but I'm still busy playing Grandia2 and Battlefleet Gothic as it stands. Not too concerned with buying a new title. Might buy ZoE2 HD on the xbox so that I have it on all consoles haha.

Agree on bots being important, useful for testing and fun to play against for beginners, kids, or people who just want to relax.
