Guy beats all the bosses in DMC3 on DMD without touching the floor once, pretty great to see!

Pfffffff, DMC is shit *read:style* gameplay compared to GoW and NG efficiency. Why would anyone want to mash buttons to a glorified dummy trying to be all smokin sick style when I can just dominate my opposition effectively and move on.

Starting to channel my inner BigZee now...

Except BigVee does consider DMC1 and 3 as good, if not great, games. He just admits they aren't for him as he is more an efficient player that doesn't care about rankings. I'm not sure if you're trolling or trying to be serious, but DMC3 can be played efficiently too and quite brutally so. I prefer efficiency over style too and can still enjoy DMC3 by the metric tons. DMC4 differs for me, Vergil is an efficiency based character but I feel Nero and Trish fill that void a lot better - especially with Nero being a glorified Kratos clone.

Joking, I know you want to clear misinformation, I know these things, I read those comments(all of them, you guys get pretty heated sometimes). Plus you respond to stuff like this all the time on gamefaqs :p. We know better here.

On the matter of style/efficiency I like both, but I'd rather not be so effective as to rely on exploits, of course one has to be effective at being stylish too. I like the idea of kicking so much ass you can look good doing so, for presentation.

I wouldn't call Nero a clone, but he's a deliberate composite character of Dante, Vergil and Kratos for sure. Big distinction being how Nero can hold and move freely with his foes(which I always forget) and use his summon swords and red queen during*some* animations.

Yeh, he's an arse at times so he has a habit of instigating such reactions, but he is civil(if condescending) and astute most of the time even if I disagree about some of his assessments(calling Nioh a 'souls like'). I will note he's too clever by half as he makes it seem like he knows more than he does, second hand knowledge only goes so far. The whole 'tough love' angle is one that can often become abuse disguised as love in more serious matters.

Also he sees a destinction between hack n slash and beat em ups, which is questionable but understandable to me given how arbitrary fist or sword is(bayo default is kickboxing with gunz, even summons giant hands n feet, only a few weapons actually cause foes to hack n slash apart). From what I know he says HnS as action is too broad a descriptor, but still sort of acknowledges action as what HnS come under or action as a genre at all.

For all our discussions(well the one, the first might I add) I don't think a unanimous term will emerge, as of now we've got Hack n slash, Beat em up, Action*HnS/BeU* and now Character Action(still no clue where this came from, any hints? At least it has action so it's back on track). Sorry, wrong topic for this one.

Have you mentioned the forum and site to him? Is he here!? Shhhhhhh...

Neither is better than the other. They are each their own thing and on an equal level. This is what people just refuse to accept. And when they claim a game is inferior because it isn't doing what some other game is doing, it just pisses me off. It's so stupid, and these people destroy the genre worse than any troll. Half the time they don't even know how other games actually play. The bizarre effect TFD had on people is a good example. I'm constantly reiterating shit like this.

If it's causing you that much trouble then don't bother, if it's gamefaqs then there's no helping. We know, but don't put it on yourself to iterate it that much, it's usually obvious is someone's open to discussion, I'd ignore it if not. Hate topics and comments are the most common thing around there's no fighting it. I suppose someone has to spread correct information and 'enlightened' views haha.

Maybe I find it easy to ignore because I only engage in this forum and my only experience with gamefaqs is from topics you and Roy have discussed in, it's not a nice place a lot of the time. I'm pretty recluse and only spend time with those who are willing to have civil discussions and come to a respectable mutual understanding, so I'll stick with this place.
