Looks pretty interesting. Based on the Journey to the West story. It is basically 'Chinese Souls' as a base, but has the mobility of Nioh it seems. It does have RPG elements from what I know. The DT looks pretty sweet, lots of enemies too, fun graphical style, high speed. Apparently you can also transform into previously beaten bosses.

Seeing a lot of transformations here. A bee, and then a gorilla, and then some amped version of himself... Which is also a monkey. Y'know, since we're playing as Wu Kong.
Not one to usually mention this, but jesus, this game looks amazing.

It looks good. There are 30 people working on this. They said that their budget is good. Just need more members.
You guys remember Lost Soul Aside and the recently announced Bright Memory? Those games, like this one, are from small Chinese studios. It's insane how those games look (all far out though).
I think they should stay independent, though it is unlikely. I'm not a big fan of Sony and Microsoft buying up everything.

since the games releasing tomorrow I’m mixed on wether getting it or not, on one hand, the game looks fantastic visually to h the r point I can’t really hate on it since everything I see is eye candy(especially wukongs main armor), but on the other hand, the combat is souls like so…. I’ll watch some gameplay videos that shows regular encounters(bosses seem a bit a typical but I can’t hate on them due to their art direction). This game really is the only ps5 looking title in terms of looks to me. NOTE: there’s a unique mechanic where if you get a boss health bar to half in a certain amount of time you get a “hidden” 2nd phase which leads to different story stuff. I like the idea of secret stuff from bosses but wouldn’t something like this be more of a small gimmick that wouldn’t be missed if gone? It’s extremely intrinsic motivated for one of the only really unique mechanics it has to differentiate itself from other souls likes or action games.

It seems pretty interesting, what worries me Is the lack of experience in game design that this team could have due to the fact that It's their first game of this type that they make. From what I understood It doesn't have so much in common with the soulslike except for being focused on One vs one combat (it has stamina bar but seems to be very light on It)

I actually bought it, I played two hours. The combat against big enemies seems good (even if the lack of animation canceling Is dribbling my mind coming from 3 months of DMC3) Is very focused on meter management and dodging. The problem Is that everything aside from big Boys encounters seems completely unecessary. I Hope that this Will change in the future of the playthrough

Yeah most reviews and previews noted that it's basically a boss-rush game at this point, with everything in between being (massively) filler.

Yeah, for now all the normal encounters are completely trivial and exploration Is basic (to be kind). It clearly represent what my doubts were about in the First Place: this team Is young in term of game design experience. At this point I actually prefer something done like Furi: bosses and literally nothing more. But maybe I'm being to harsh, they are Just young in this genre, not bad. The fact that at least for now the main core of the game seems solid and fun Is already a victory (my judgment about this could obviously change during the game)

The game is REALLY oozing with style with the only thing being generic is the ui but that’s to be expected in modern vidya.
>meter management
That seems to be where a lot of the decision making comes from.
