I chose it during a time when I was into the series. It was 100% because I couldn't really play anything else (as in, PS2 games), so I settled for whatever, and before I knew it I played most entries.
That said, if you find that surprising, GMG not only knows about it (or used to know), he actually watched somebody else on YT 'play' those years ago.
