The Wonderful 101

I didn't like the size of it - it's a hard feeling to describe but I felt like there was a disconnect between the controller and myself because of how far apart the buttons were placed (due to the screen). I didn't feel like I was holding a controller, but rather something else.

The feeling wasn't quite as bad when you were actually playing on the tablet screen. Maybe it was because the buttons are still in your peripheral vision? Not sure really.

I did get one later for Bayonetta 2, which I played earlier this year, and didn't bother with W101 since by that time the remaster was close to release.

The drawing is so similar to Okami, there's got to be someone who worked on it in W101.

I felt something like this too. It made playing Fatal Frame 5 feel like shit. This talk reminds me I still need to play Wind Waker.

If you want to play Wind Waker, play the Gamecube version imo.

I thought the WiiU version was best. Fast sail and no loading or something?

I played this a little like a week ago. Had it sealed and wanted to check if it worked.

I've barely played it before so this will be old news but noticed something really cool. I formed the fist and was attacking some guy near the flames on the bus and saw the fist can actually catch on fire. This lets you throw fireballs. That's awesome.

Does it work with other weapons? Are there other environmental that can be used?

IIRC there are more things like that yeah. But the fist+flame is the stand-out. You can also walk through fire with it if I remember correctly, it's been a decade since I played this I feel.

I played this again recently. I take back(almost) everything bad I ever said about it. It’s a completely brilliant game, and shows that action games can be unique and stop sticking to conventions for everything. Feel mostly the same about Astral Chain.

But I thought we already all liked the gameplay? Just hated the overall package (i.e. minigames).

Yeah, but I was dismissing just how good the mechanics are, I think. The non-core gameplay stuff is bad, but the game at its core is just brilliant. So many great ideas that could be built upon, but instead all we get is open world Arkham nonsense.

Cool. One less person I have to hunt down and hurt.

Saw this pop up on Steam today. God knows if I'm supposed to get a code for this after the shambles that was the Kickstarter campaign.

Wasn't Prince Vorkken playable in the base game as an unlockable extra? I'm not sure what's different about this, at a glance.

It's a new DLC that isn't for Kickstarter supporters, but just a regular DLC (only 90 cents though). You 'become' Vorkken in this one, who has some unique abilities to summon boss-monsters to do an attack, giving him a unique edge. It seems like a quick easy addition (just some reskinned bosses doing a single move) that was probably made in an afternoon. Looks fun for veterans of the game to get another run out of it.

By some miracle my keychain finally arrived, which seems like nearly 2 years later haha. It is pretty decent quality though which honestly took me by surprise.
