Death by Degrees

Bought this game amongst others, pretty weird little title. Still figuring out how the combat exactly works but liking it. For instance a dodge towards a foe will result into a flip over them which can be followed up by a grab from behind into a neck-breaker (which is an instant kill). Good stuff!

More and more by playing this game I find just how good it is. It really is a game about optimazation; when do you use which items and mitigating damage so that you can abuse the couple of free full heals the game gives you. A run is pretty intense that way.

Music is still shit though, so I turned it off. On my second full run now, planning on doing an Expert run afterwards and a Fresh Expert Run; should be intense.

Taking a short break to focus on my PAIN run in God of War (almost done, maybe 2-3 days remaining should have it finished after this weekend). After that I can continue. I was halfway my Hard run : )

Your a busy boy roy, i always like to see more coverege of obscure action games, like samurai western(fun vid on that birdman) and alien soldier, so many to find and cover, so many different takes.

How many action games do u consume at once roy and birdman?

i usually play 2 types at once, maybe something like a shooter or other type of action game(just beat evil within last night and will now move onto vanquish) and a straight action game, god hand right now. i take breaks and cycle between them so i dont get burnt out, while playing games i have not before.

I totally forgot about that video. The bosses are so dumb I had to make a compilation of them.

Good question Gabriel. As for me, I have an issue. What I do is get sidetracked A LOT. I usually have a small handful I'm 'working on', and by that I mean I might be playing a game then get an idea from somewhere to test something in another game then I get totally into that and the previous one gets shelved for a while. I always cycle back to them though, and it's usually the same few games with the odd new one here and there.

I need to focus on just one. I make a lot of notes while testing mechanics or writing FAQs but then lose them or get them mixed up. Really need to organize stuff better.

Really depends but most of the time I play one game for Youtube on a handicap run (God of War 1 now) and one casually (just finished a casual run of DMC). Generally I play one game without Youtubing it, right now that's Nioh but Yakuza: Kiwami is around the corner. And sometimes I pop in a more story based game to switch it up and relax a bit when I don't want to do 'demanding' games. Right now enjoying Life is Strange!
But it differs greatly. Sometimes I don't game for a whole week or w/e, sometimes a lot. Depends on my mood most of the time. I made one rule and that's I never let people or Youtube or w/e dictate what I play. I play what I feel like playing : )

Got a few small projects going though due to work, only on weekends. Mainly testing GR2 tech and coming up with boss strats like what I posted, and also working on my Lollipop Chainsaw stuff. Just bought Mirror's Edge Catalyst new for $25. Don't know what made this one store drop it that much. Installing and will play a little before I go to bed.

I always wanted to see a tekken action game, tekken 3-4 has tekken force, tekken 5 has that Jin campaign, 6 has scenario campaigns.

Also urban chaos is like a tekken action game, 3D beat em up style, has similar particle effects n even Paul Phoenix n martial law r guest characters.

I knew about death by degrees but i never knew if it was any good, never knew about weird controls so must be why.

The right stick does combos? Some other games do that,fairy tale fights is one, I think a ps2 monster hunter does that also, the one I had as a kid, and ape escape.

Yeah you attack by flicking the stick in a certain direction, it takes a bit of getting used to but once it clicks it feels fun. The downside is you have to find good locations to fight as some locations will change camera depending on your positioning which can screw with your combat inputs a lot.

You given up on this Roy? Boy the memories, how this forum has grown.

I honestly just wasn't having fun with the game, mostly due to the horrible soundtrack. I might return to it some day but the thought of doing that final backtracking segment again just made me go "nope" in my mind. Fun game, but not one I'm likely to revisit any time soon.

What a weird spin off, it doesn't really strike me as a tekken spin off. I think Urban Reign feels more like a tekken beat em up than this, that game has hit sparks that look like tekken and even has law and Paul as guest characters. I'd love to see a full tekken force game, love that mini game
