Really hurts what I read here, the hate for challenge etc. All blaming it on the game instead of their own shortcomings. While I agree the stats don't work in favor, fact that you can brute force your way to victory using stats is half the battle. Yet they still blame the game for their mistakes. Shame. Shame. Shame.

No surprise. This is the generation we live in, with games that play themselves and never leave the tutorial.

There's so many that share this view now, including scum reviewers who propagate this bullshit to the point where they control a game's success or failure as sure as if they owned it themselves.

As soon as you try to explain or teach these types anything, they turn like rabid dogs and attack. That's how insecure they are over a game.

I feel totally done. I'll still do my own stuff but I'm not going to bother countering anything anymore. Every time we post we just bump a topic for all to see.

It was nice to read your comments there Roy, to see an actual counter argument. That one guy said some stuff about masamune but he seemed pretty fair from your vids against him. Imagine if they fought azel, WTF I CANT SPAM PUNCH PUNCH GUARD BREAK CUS HE JUKES N JIVES B******T.

I'm gonna stick to this forum, it's the only forum I've ever used actually I'm not into social stuff.

But birdman I love it when you hard counter me, it's nice to be challenged, and my comments about EW grabs shows I can be whiny too haha, I'm not like that typically honest.

Maybe, but I mean more when I see a game being trashed by trolls and countering them with fact. Waste of time and they never respond with anything other than more insults to protect those fragile egos.

Also, maybe I just have a higher tolerance for difficult/annoying stuff in games. I've always blamed myself for my failures in games and have always overcome them.

That doesn't mean I've never come across stuff I could truly call crap, like Project Altered Beast.

I'm getting this feeling more and more myself. The sanctity of this place is a lot better than the constant discussions and hate-threads I keep finding myself in.

It's funny you should mention God Hand Gabriel, as me and some friends were talking over Facebook just how it would go if these players would pick up games like God Hand or Ninja Gaiden 2...it would be a slaughter. There was a video way back of a player being horrible at NG2 but I can't find it, he was raging at Genshin in Chapter 2 and it was clear he was just mashing light attack and Genshin just cut him to pieces. That's exactly what would happen. Of course he blamed the game.

Have to say Reddit fared a bit better, made a topic on stats & skill, and the balance of it. Pretty good replies all round.

EDIT: it really got out of hand in another topic, so I decided to quit going there. I'll rather just do my thing here haha.

Sadly, this trend of blaming the game it's not popular only amongst "casual" gamers. I'm an admirer of the souls games but I have to admit they didn't do very good to improve the perception of difficulty and balance of the new generation of players. Actually, there are a lot of souls veterans that played the game so much that now they think souls is the only fair and balanced type of difficulty that can be found in games nowadays. Not all of them, but a nice chunk, especially the younger ones. So, it's not a case that Nioh get compared to souls all day, and get criticized for his "unfair" difficulty. And the less experienced players get conditioned by listening to those souls "pros" youtube commentaries.

Souls being almost a mass phenomenon, people think that dodge and counter basic gameplay should be the norm, while more creative, less intuitive designs like those in Nioh or Ninja Gaiden are just cheap ways to increase the difficulty. They just refuse to adapt and learn something new, creating a trend for companies to be abused in order to make money. Like everything in the market. Damn, it was much better when games were considered a thing for nerds and were only a nieche. Now, even your 80 years old neighbour is complaining about Bloodletting Beast design in Bloodborne XD

I'm playing DS3 at the moment and while I've died quite a few times, I haven't found anything hard. It's just that starting off most shit kills you in a few hits if not instantly.

The only thing I died on was the first boss I think, because I had to test which way to dodge his wide range swings, worse when that black thing comes out. The bosses seem to always be some giant whose every attack takes up half the screen. Once you know which way to dodge, that's it.

I agree. I'm not saying that souls is bad, though. I also think probably DkS1 is better than 3, but it's a bit complex. Though, well, I would say souls is a bit overrated when it comes to perception of difficulty.
