Ninja Gaiden 2 No Ninpo No UT

Yesterday I started a No Ninpo No UT run of NG2. Completely CH1 today, only Rasetsu gave me trouble but it was because I was using the Lunar aerial XXY instead of XXBY, so he often catched me on the way down. I'm using items because I'm not good enough (and don't have enough patience) to push myself further than this. So far I only used one Herb during the Rasetsu fight.
The only additional rules I'm adding are no Essence farming when there are infinite farming spots and a couple of sections that I'll consider Bonus Credit (and thus I'm allowed to complete normally). These sections are: Gigadeath, triple Rasetsu fight and the Centaurs fights (aside from the sections where you need to use the Bow UT like the Golden Dragons and Archfiend 1). I'll also try to not skip fights and to not abuse despawns, but that's not a strict rule.

Good luck with the run. Chapter 2 will be brutal under these conditions, but I'm sure you can do it. As far as I know, only Farnham and d_nought have done the run (sadly, d_nought didn't finish it).

Good luck! I did both OLB+NN and NUR+NN and in both I had to use UTs from time to time for sure, especially in the later chapters which got crazy.

I'd definitely use items and make a few run exceptions to save your sanity. Very curious how Chapter 11 will go, that was the one that broke me on both runs to the point that I considered giving up (did persevere though).

The most painful sections imo were the entire part AFTER the Rasetsu gauntlet since you can't save (fuck my life) and the first stretch in chapter 13 which ends with the Centaur (so long...).

I assume you will rely on instant-delimb tools for the most part?

Pretty much, but I also want to have my fun a bit. This game is still chock-full of useful strings despite the existence of instant-delimb moves and broken stuff in general like FS into ID.

Yeah I didn't plan smartly imo, I was pretty low on Essence there and needed my Talisman to beat the gauntlet itself and couldn't buy a new one. Died twice after the fact (fml).

Jump bow into that aerial spin with Scythe does work nicely, but it's still fucking risky and you're basically one hit away from death after what is imo one of the longest and most dull sets of fights.
