Farnham is amazing. And he's got the temper to match, I love watching him fight Zedonius and hearing him hate that motherfucker just as much as I do.

Really? That’s why I also prefer jtb button, he is far more fair to the game from what I have seen(defends it but also criticizes it when needed). Also pretty sure godfathers run consisted of just UT spamming which gets old imo. I get it of course, but it definitely does get repetitive after a while.

Fresh MN is both good and bad, but I think the best thing is playing on MN and on NG+. That way, even the worst parts can be dealt with much more swiftly, and you're far more free to experiment with your moveset, while also enjoying a very hard challenge. It's a very different experience.

Not in NGII. You gotta earn that shit here. You can also start the game with everything unlocked but no upgrades, and that is a good middle ground. Wonder why not many other action games offer this.

Nah. I want to keep it vanilla. It sounded great at first but looking at it now, vanilla would be more challenging with more stuff to work with (working with what's given to us).

Vanilla is definitely the way to go, NG+ allows for more experimentation after the fact as a reward for completing the mode.

Good choice. Btw, since you're still not there, I suggest practicing Guillotine Throw. You'll need it on MN. In fact, that's what I'll do on an easier mode (probably Acolyte or Warrior) as well before resuming my NUR, since I often screw up the tech due to panic caused by all those damn explosions.

It basically gives you i frames, and if you send an enemy crashing against a wall it will cause an instant mutilation, which is crucial against human enemies (read: IS Ninjas). But it requires timing, otherwise you'll execute a light aerial slash instead.

Safest strat is doing on-landing moves, as they tend to be grab-immune. OnLanding 360Y with the lunar (no UT) is the best, you can just chain it. Scythe also works.

With Lunar do 360Y on landing and then jump + bow and then do it again.

What about NUR? On chapter 2, I cheated a little, as I used a safe spot I saw in a no damage run, and then killed them with the Lunar. But they also appear in Chapter 12, IIRC, and I won't have the 360Y with the Lunar, so how do I deal with them?

Run. Run like hell haha. Otherwise Tonfa on-landing works decently as does a ET (massive i.frames). In general I just avoided the fights with them on my NUR. They're all skippable.

He never played 2 or 360 games I think. But he did play sigma 1 and I do think he would like it. But it just feels like it’s gonna compare it to doom eternal a lot due to them having a lot of similarities. I heard the developers took inspiration from it.

Ngl, would love if you made another type of those videos defending an action game or game in general you love since it makes it feel very relatable imo. Turn based combat I see. Not too big since I always feel like the enemy’s would always feel the same for some reason. Although I only played Pokémon for that regard so yeah.

The encounter with the eggs in ninja gaiden 2 is so damn good. Love how it tests you on your positioning to not spawn enemy’s by accident, but you can use that to your advantage against rasetsu by let’s say, delimbing a enemy and keep them alive to then release a rasetsu to then use OT for a essence to charge UT. Fucking great shit.

Ngl, a lot of the weapons do feel a bit too similar to me. I tried dragon sword and tbh, I don’t really feel like it has as much as a special appeal as let’s say, kurisgama. The spear also has a cool identity imo. The rest of the weapons aside from the claws but I have to use it more, don’t feel too unique to me personally but I think it has to do with me using the sword more pretty late into the game(chapter 11). I’m sure I will find cool things to do with it.

Sounds more like a you thing if anything paired with some confirmationbias (is that the right word?). I.e. you hear someone say that, so it's the default state from which you analyze something, often leaning to 'true'.

Every weapon is unique, but some are better than others. The Tonfa is probably the best in every category for example. Doesn't mean you can't use the rest.

Not sure I would say that per se, but I do think it is more of a me thing since the weapons I did use a lot do feel unique, I think I need to use the other weapons more if anything and learn their abilities. But it could be confirmation bias.

Started using scythe more and it’s fucking badass omg. The grab is fantastic with the amount of options you have. It’s pretty much a more heavy kurisgama which is the point I think. Blood rain is a very good air move.

Final boss time!

Goddamn……. This final mission has the best boss fight by far. You know who I’m talking about. And then Elizabeth comes and is boring ngl. Very hyped to get to mentor either tonight or tomorrow.

I think you should realize that, at best, you've played maybe 15 hours of this game. That's a drop in the bucket, so I wouldn't make conclusions yet on what's good, what's bad or what's unique and not etc.

Great boss, my favourite in the series to be honest. He gets a bit overused in NG3's mission mode, so people are tired of him (understandable). But I always loved fighting him. You can also counter him.

I beat chapter 12, and I`m stuck with very very boring machines in the first part of chpater 13.

Maybe It`s my first impression, but I don`t like master ninja after the half of chapter 11(after Muramasa giving me omusubi). I don`t hate Master ninja, I enjoyed till chapter 10 but man chapter 12 and chapter 13 is like... idk one atomic armadillo is maybe a mistake but two atomic armadillos are criminal. And devs throw the same type enemies again and again.

I can`t remember how I felt ch12~ch14 on mentor but I belive that I didn`t dislike this much.

A pretty but slog yeah. It does have a decent final gauntlet I guess, but it’s still not the best thing. And the beginning is a slog.

Will say, something I need to get better at at ninja gaiden is memorizing certain weapon combos(the king ones). That’s why I think kurisgama is my favorite weapon due to how it doesn’t have long inputs. But that it’s bad, just a me thing.

I honestly wish the game ended after chapter 11 cause it just feels like they ran out of new things to throw at the player after the triple rasetsu fight (they probably did considering the game being unfinished) at least the last 3 chapters are the shortest and easiest ones in the game it usually only takes me about an hour to get through all of them.

One of my favourite fights in the game for how unreasonable it is, it's unfortunate that it tends to kill challenge runs as it's one of the few fights in this game that kinda just becomes pure rng when you start restricting things (maybe I'm just not good enough yet). Definitely scared of this fight whenever I get to it on my current run (OLB, Dragon Sword only).

Easily my favourite weapon I don't know why some people consider it weak, it's running attacks and counter attacks are some of the strongest for dealing with ninjas and it's in air YXX string shreds boss health bars (especially good for dealing with elizabet).

Question for scythe, there is a badass move where you throw it while wall running, how do you do it constantly?

God, the tentacle boss with 2 swords is aids. I have no clue how I should fight him.

The scythes in air Y or wings of the vermillion bird can hit him while he's in the air (and during his lightning attack but you will take damage on landing if you do), you can use ninpo in order to dodge the laser and deal some chip damage to him or kill his minions, if you drag a van gelf all the way to the door of the fight he becomes unable to summon minions so you can pretty much just spam him down while he's in the air.
