A new way of the samurai game just dropped. I enjoyed the series so gonna give this a try. It is top down which is weird.

This game seems extremely awesome.
It is WOTS x Shiren The Wanderer.
It uses the basic set up and combat of WOTS. The open ended design where you can kill anyone or just make bizarre choices. In the old games you could literally kill the npcs that were save points.
The Shiren part is the roguelike dungeon you will spend most of your time in. It's some kind of ghost world so the types of enemies are very diverse.
OK basic combat mechanics:
-Tons of craftable swords. Each has a specific stance which affects moves. They also have there own skill trees, these skills can have various properties, guard break, launch, grab, etc.
So picking and leveling up weapons is a big choice and if you die in the dungeon you lose carried swords. You can buy insurance to avoid this.
- Grabs knock enemies down allowing you to get some hits in.
-If you guard or dodge at the right time you can do a critical attack, this can be chained to near by enemies just like Onimusha. This is my favorite thing about the game easily.
-If you keep your sword sheathed it will charge up an aoe move.
-You can fight unarmed as well, it is weak but there is a strong parry, like nioh.
-There is a Devil Trigger style move you can build up which lets you attack with super armor and more damage.
That's all for now, still using the starter sword without many skills.
There is an Iai stance which I'm am curious about, also want to unlock launch moves and see if there are juggles.
