Actually picked the game up again after a while, it was on discount last week. Having a lot of fun now suddenly playing this game, though I am using Cammy who is pretty easy and fast to use. Anyone else have this game and want to do some matches?

Would you recommend it? I've enjoyed other SF titles (mainly 3rd Strike and 4 Arcade Edition) but the business model and other controversies with the game have put me off.

Only if you like SFV. I personally like SF2 and 3 a whole lot more but their online and progression system is basically dead right now. So it is this or bust.
You can get most of the content by playing, but I am lying if I said it is a scummy game.

I've been thinking about getting the Arcade version. What modes are there?

You have:
Online (casual, ranked and lobbies)
Arcade Modes of each game in the series are present
Event fights that switch each week
Trials for combos
A pretty deep survival mode
Honestly though, most of the single player content is mostly there for a fun diversion while you wait for an online match or to practice. I wouldn't buy it for the offline content.
