This is a really fun game. Watch this to get an idea.
You can drop bombs on the ground or shoot them. You can't shoot the special bombs though. They can all be stacked to do more damage, range or effects.
Normal bombs are infinite. The max that can be placed is 8.
Paralysis Liquid, when detonated, sends out bolts of electricity that paralyze enemies.
It doesn't work on these living mutant types later, but works on bosses.
Napalm creates a burning area doing continuous damage. Causes those same mutants to take constant hitstun.
Gravity creates these swirling orbs and sucks enemies in. Does damage so can be used on big stuff too. Gravity is like KH2's Magnet. You can even combine stuff like Napalm to keep them stuck in the fire.
The levels are short and have letter rankings.
Bombs can also be used to destroy projectiles. I found that the fire from Napalm blocks projectiles. You also get points from this.
There's an extremely light upgrade system. You get chips, and can place them in bomb, range, and shield. Bomb is number of bombs and damage (since you can stack more), range is the distance you can shoot them, and shield is just defense. You can rearrange them any time.
I'm a bit stuck on the final boss now. When he becomes like a giant hologram and tries to grab, he has 3 types. I keep getting caught. I think you need to jump or air dash in certain directions depending on which grab he does.
It's also extremely annoying that you have to do that chess board fight again if you lose, though I can donit easily now.
So far had a blast with this and would recommend. Don't know how hard it is to find for PS1 but it's on the Japanese PS3 store. Could be on US but haven't checked.
