Finally got it.

Just got the Beast legion.

I've heard from you guys that the first playthrough sucks. It really does.

The enemies so far are pretty shit. Havent really enjoyed the boss fights either. Seems everything is super armored.

The enemies that have something generating shields for them are the worst so far. Having to dig them up with Beast, shoot with Arrow or cut tethers with Sword. Awful. Please tell me with all legions and full upgrades you can bypass this trash.

I haven’t played this in a while but I’m curious to hear your thoughts. I can’t give much advice because I sucked at the game.

Not enjoying it at all.

The enemies that require certain legions to break their shields are disgusting.

The gameplay outside of combat is abominable. I feel like a vacuum cleaner. I don't even bother picking that shit up anymore.

Don't bother with sidequests either. They're horrendous. I can't do this anymore.

Just got to some chapter where I have to clean up the rooftops. Have to destroy many gates with terrible platforming while they spew giant energy balls at you. I just stopped playing. I really don't know if I can push through this to get the final legion and hope it gets better.

Right now it feels like a horrible chore to play and that has always been a solid sign to stop. I've heard about this dreaded first playthrough. No one told me it was this bad. I actually hate playing it.

What exactly is supposed to change the second time that makes it bearable?

Is there any point in maintaining legions? It pissed me off right from the first time. Why the fuck would they make the legions struggle and spaz out while I'm trying to remove the red stuff? It's like this game was designed to piss people off on multiple levels.

I'm actually enjoying BotW more.

Oof. Yeah I hated a lot of my playthrough but saw moments of brilliance with the mechanics. I never went back to the game though because I honestly couldn’t be bothered.

Just another game I want to love, but will probably never do it for me.

Ah, I'd forgot about the platforming. Yep, dreadful. The collision detection on certain objects in the environment made it even more frustrating at times.

> Second playthrough
So, when you finish the story, you unlock a big list of postgame fights that are just pure combat challenges (as far as I remember). When I said first playthrough, what I meant was the initial story content. I found the postgame stuff more enjoyable.

I'd forgotten about this too. Yes, another dumb feature for the sake of giving the legions some "personality", I guess? I think Nier Automata had too much of a (bad) influence on this game in terms of non-combat elements.

It probably is if you can get past the crap and unlock all the moves.

I just got Axe which I like better than the rest along with Archer.

Is there a way to give the training dummy infinite HP? I haven't been able to practice much in the story but training is annoying because it throws two guys (I'm talking about the small humanoid ones) at you and even if you kill one it just comes back. They don't have much HP either. So I get to a point in my combo and they just die. Does the training dummy get more HP if you raise the difficulty?

So far I'm playing sort of like I would CL. Only really use two legions until I'm forced to change for gimmick shit. Run around mainly perfect calling then dismiss to keep them safe though sometimes keeping them out. But feel like it's not the real way to play. I've seen some videos of two legions out at once. I guess they're using those unchained special attacks that last a while, then swapping while they're still active.

I never finished this but plan to get back to it someday.

From the looks of it, it's mostly 'useless' curayzhee stuff. Looks fancy but not very practical in combat situations.

Seems they've found some kind of stun bug or something but I don't know the general mechanics well enough to understand it.

I've actually lost track of his posts. Check the media section of his page. The first one says something about stun but not sure if that's the one I'm talking about.

Some of this instant-chain setups are funky, but otherwise I just see a lot of useless combomombo that has no real application in the game's combat.
