Balan Company

Apparently Square Enix just kickstarted a sub-division called "Balan Company" which is a "new 'action game brand' that brings together internal and external action game developers". We're going to get a trailer for the first game this week apparently. Came out of nowhere. Wonder if the success of Nier's buttocks had anything to do with this. One can assume it will mostly be action-rpgs.

They just dropped the trailer yesterday. So Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima are part of it...

I saw it too and honestly, it made me think: "this is what Super Mario Odyssey should have been in my eyes". Saw a lot of interesting abilities, fun platforming tricks etc. The transformations in that game always felt a bit underutilized by comparison. Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Also, when they announced it I really thought it would be Itagaki... haha.
