Do you have/want an Xbox One?

After playing Alan Wake, I've become a bit of a fan of Remedy and want to play Quantum Break. Sadly I don't have an X1 and have never had a reason to buy one. I was planning to get one but then Scalebound got cancelled.

I started looking into what's out on X1 these days to see if I can justify buying one. I wouldn't buy a new console for QB, because I can already see it isn't worth it. I just want to play it.

Just looked into Recore. Keiji Inafune had some part in it. Doesn't seem that many liked it but I think it looks fun.

I was thinking about getting one on the cheap one day for Ninja Gaiden Black and Quantum Break, but decided against it. I'd be a much better investment to get a good PC since that also has Quantum Break, and Ninja Gaiden Black apparently had a bad port with input drops so I'll just stick to the X360 version. Other than that, not really that interested in it imo.

What do you think of Recore?

I like the movement and arcadey combat. It would be cool if the robots were totally customizable too.

My sister's boyfriend has an unused X1 so I might grab QB and Recore and borrow it for a few weeks. Both those games are really cheap for some reason.

Nope, the Xbone exclusives I’m interested in are also on PC(Cuphead), so I’d rather spend that money saving up for the latter.

Sunset Overdrive looks fun. I've only watched one review to see what it looks like, but I get the feeling I might enjoy. Looks like it has a lot of weird weapons with unique properties, and traversal looks like barrels of fun.

Sunset looked really fun too, but got blasted by reviews. So that must mean it is pretty good. Still, I believe it was also on PC.

I've got a better chance of getting a console than a PC though.

SO definitely looks like a fun shooter. If the weapons and effects on enemies have enough variety, I could see myself playing this for a while. It's one of the reasons Transformers (2004 PS2) has so much replay value.

I like how you can be grinding on a rail and still dodge, or even go the opposite way. I can imagine top gameplay would be never touching the ground while using every piece of the environment to run circles around enemies/bosses while blasting them.

So, there's three X1 games I want to play, though QB looks like no more than a cinematic shooter than I wouldn't replay. Only interested because of Alan Wake. Recore looks highly replayable but will depend on length and if the guns and robots offer much variety.

Edit: Forgot to say, I'm getting a huge Lollipop Chainsaw vibe from Sunset for some reason. I guess it's the colorful, cartooney graphics style and craziness of it.

Got Recore, Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive for $9 each new.

Curious to hear your take on Quantum, I absolutely hated that game.

QB looks pretty boring. I was only interested back then due to Alan Wake (which I got a free copy of with QB).

Has anybody got opinions on Recore? I'm interested in getting the improved edition on PC, but not sure how interesting the combat is. I've only seen a few minutes of gameplay but it looks like fairly simple third person shooting with a dodge move.

Recore was one of the games I wanted an X1 for due to Keiji Inafune's involvement. Figured it could at least be decent.

I've only watched videos and seems there's some light customization regarding your robot pal, and the combat looks like it flows well. Doesn't look very advanced as you noted but who knows. Might have something more to it and simple mechanics can still be fun.

I want Rare Replay now.

Don't care much for the games on it except one: Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Reason being I'm very interested in this game and have already bought it online for the OG Xbox, but also because the version on Rare Replay is the only game on there that's a full remaster. The rest are emulation.

Found a copy of Rare Replay but without a case. Really living up to its name here in NZ.

I'll be playing the regular Xbox version first assuming it arrives either tomorrow or Saturday but I can actually borrow my sister's boyfriend's X1 whenever I want, I just can't be bothered going to pick it up. If I don't get my OG version by Saturday morning (which is the last day of the week mail arrives) I might just grab the X1 for the weekend. Hell, I might as well now that I think about it and get through these other X1 games I have.

Going to start Grabbed by the Ghoulies soon on X1. Will make some notes on the mechanics and make a topic later.

I played Recore a little too and didn't like it.

Nice controls, easy to move around and shoot, but it's so boring.

Hated Sunset Overdrive. Had that hollow feeling and the shooting wasn't fun.

Haven't tried Quantum Break but I watched a few vids and feel I'll hate it too. The ONLY reason I even bothered was because I really enjoyed Alan Wake (QB even came with a digital code for the full game and DLCs) but I absolutely hate time travel/powers. Looks super dull. Will try it this weekend. Would do it now but the MHW festival is on, building up to Iceborne so I'm super busy with that.

Right now, the only reason to own an X1 is the remastered Grabbed by the Ghoulies, but nowhere near enough to buy a console for. I already have the original on Xbox, so actually, I now have zero reason.

Anyone know if Lollipop Chainsaw is backwards compatible or on the store?

It is on the store for the Xbox 360, but not compatible with the Xbox One sadly. Killer is Dead is though, but Lollipop wasn't added. Possibly due to copyright issues (the songs)?

It's not available at the 360 store anymore and for some time now. Disc is the way to go. Gasp.

No, your disc won't work. It isn't backwards compatible on the X1 as I noted. Zenyn is correct though in that the game isn't on XBLA either. It still has a store page, but only for images.
