Played the demo and I might buy this.
Has lots of stuff you don't see in a JRPG.
Attacks from higher ground do more damage.
Back attacks.
Status effects worked consistently in the demo.
The most interesting aspect is how you can affect the terrain.
Ice magic can freeze the ground. This lowers mov and acc.
Fire can melt ice, which turns it into water.
Same for snowy stages which have snow terrain.
Water can be turned back into ice.
Water conducts electricity, spreading the effect.
You can set certain terrain on fire. There's also an oil flask item that can make terrain flammable.
Wind causes fire to spread.
Ice can douse fire.
I don't know if you can force it to rain or if there's a water spell (like in Divinity OS2 you have a rain spell) but there is weather. I don't know how it works yet. It can rain but I don't know if it's random or just some stages are rainy.
The combat is similar to FF Tactics. You move and attack on tiles.
You can't change character classes but you can upgrade them.
You get abilities from levels, weapon upgrades or class upgrades.
I got an ability for my fire mage that gives a damage boost to fire in clear weather.
Really surprised to see a JRPG with elements you can interact with.
