Megaman 11

Only just noticed this was out. Anyone played it or planning to get it? Looks quite good.

The demo was good, but I’ll play the whole series before I get to this.

Last Megaman I played was 7 on the SNES.

Nice to see how similar it looks to the old ones.
Now, why wasn't Mighty No.9 like this?

Sadly, I've read about pre order only soundtrack DLC. Guess it's going on the 'wait for complete edition or sale' pile.

Honestly, the art-style was a big turn off for me. Game also felt a lot slower than I am used to from the series. Skipping it so far, I'd rather play Megaman9.

The demo is fun. I haven't played an MM game in forever though and suck Mega Ass.

Not sure about this time slow thing and something like DT. Did Mega Man really need such features? It already has 'EX' moves which is cool, as well as different ways to use them. Slowmo and DT feel kinda weird here.

The demo lets you play Block Man's stage and gives you two weapons.
Electric Man's (or whatever he's called) one is really cool because it has 3 options. Basic hits the ground and sends a wave in both directions along the ground and also travels up walls. In the air he fires down, and if you press up with the shoot button he fires directly upward (also splits into two waves and travels along the ceiling). Downside is hitting incoming flying enemies at low altitude as you have nothing that fires straight ahead like the Mega Buster.

You can switch with R2 or use the right stick in 'weapon wheel' fashion. Since I only had two weapons I tended to not use the wheel that much. Will put some more time in later. I only played for a few minutes.

Speaking of MM9, how's the legacy collection?

I always hear of stuff going wrong with these old game releases.

My MM career is pretty limited. I used to play 7 on SNES often. Got 100% in that. Played 8 on PS1 quite a bit too. A little of Legends but didnt really like it. Also played a bit of X4.

I really want to try the old ones before I die so I might grab both Legacy collections for Christmas. Or maybe I'll just get 9 and 10 off the store as they're pretty cheap.

Not sure, but from what I know the emulation is a bit shoddy at some points. That said I've heard zero complaints of the X collections.

Looked up some reviews of Legacy 1. Seems to generally be considered fine. Even has the same old graphical glitches you'd see in the originals like flickering and stuff. There's also an option to make it display like an old CRT screen. That's pretty cool. Will do some reading later.

I'm reading complaints of horrible slowdown but others say this is present in the originals (not sure if all or just a few of them) and the team that made this collection actually programmed it like this to remain true to the originals.

I don't have a problem with this, I just need to work out it it's true and not some rumor.

Hm, that's pretty sweet. Reminds me of the time Street Fighter II got ported over and fireing a fireball would slow the game down to a crawl. People would complain but it was like that originally so that's pretty on the mark.

I've read tons of comments about this. A lot of people hate it, though it seems they never played the originals. Some know and still hate it and expected this sort of stuff to be removed. I'm totally fine with this. I'll grab both collections for Christmas.

Now this is a game I did play originally and I remember that slowdown like it was yesterday.

Did anyone here end up playing this? I got the platinum and really loved it. Learned a ton.

Nope. I planned to for Christmas but ended up getting MHW.

It's still on my list though. Looks really fun.

The full game is excellent, great weapons and some really fun levels. It’s also very challenge and speedrun friendly. It’s one of my favorite games for PS4 to just pop in and play every once in a while.
