Bought this last night and it is horrifying. I dont even know what I'm seeing.  What I do know, is that it's addictive af.

Edit: This game is messing with my head. Played another stage after I got home and it was all I could take. The game is excellent and extremely addictive, but I only play it in short bursts.

I actually read a few pieces on it in Edge a while ago, really cool. The making off concept art was amazing too. Very psychidelic! Gameplay is good too then?

It's simple but very fun.

You have a few moves and types of obstacle but as you progress further the game mixes them up and it gets harder.

Kinda pissed off now.

I noticed on the title screen a mode called Play+. It was greyed out in earlier stages so I stopped paying attention to it.

What I just read is that Play+ was an update where the better you do, the faster you go and there are no checkpoints in levels.

I'm pissed because I didnt know which means I've been practicing and playing on an inferior mode getting used to a slow speed. I now have no motivation to play that + mode.

I'll still finish the main game though, as that's the rule I set to get through my backlog. No skipping titles.

So its sort of an infinite mode? Sounds pretty cool. What does it play like? The visuals make it show like a type of racer rhythm game?

Play+ is the same game but it speeds up the higher your combo is.

It's like a rhythm game where you have obstacles and you can die. It's not every beat like DDR or anything though.

You have a few moves to avoid obstacles. Jump, dash, and drift. Jump goes over spike floors, dash for bars blocking the track, and drift for sharp turn barriers. Some things are just for score and wont hurt you when you miss.

Some later tracks have track switching and enemies that appear on the track or something that can shoot lasers at you if you miss a beat.

There are some more advanced mechanics too.

The bosses are crazy and have their own tracks where you have to hit every floor panel which will make a projectile appear and let you shoot the boss. They usually require 3-4 shots and after each their track changes.

There is a separate infinity mode but I haven't played it yet.

Bought the game on the Switch. Very fun and interesting so far, though also a bit too long (already) for my tastes. After each level I catch myself thinking "not even halfway...really"?

I know how you feel.

I actually got a headache and sore eyes every time I played it. I'll never touch it again but it was definitely worth playing and experiencing such weirdness.

It is really cool and weird. I think one of the reasons I can't stick with it and feel the 'is it over yet' emotion is because it is all very samey. The visuals are great at first, but after stage 2 you've basically seen it all including the bosses (in terms of visuals that is). All bosses are reskins. Feel the game really could've benefited from more visual variety. That said, very unique game and no regretting my purchase one bit.

Redownloaded this by accident when I was trying to download something else from my library.

Thought I might as well have a quick jam. BIG MISTAKE. I was instantly drawn in and played up to level 3. Now I'm playing it on and off. It still burns my eyes.

Level one is just the right length. From 2 onwards they get way too long.

I looked more into Play+. It becomes available after level 3. Whatever levels you have already done will be available in Play+.

In Play+, the speed increases the better you do. It will drop back down when you miss or get hit. There doesn't seem to be any gradual increase, just one speed boost when you reach the requirement, then back to normal speed when you screw up.

Never even heard of this but it looks interesting. Maybe I’ll try it out.

This is one of those games that really makes me enter my gaming-flow, just very hypnotising all in all and great gameplay. Highly enjoyable though I admit to not really liking the bosses, other than that fantastic little game.

I remember Hbomberguy talking about this game. He mentioned that it really got into your head after a while, which seems to agree with what everyone else here is saying.

Roy are you referring to the look of the bosses (giant scary face or triangle tentacle things) or the 'fight' itself?

I felt that each one was different in the track they were on and later they started adding shields you had to break or your shot would be deflected, and some had lasers. I remember one where you had to break multiple shields at once.

Mostly the fight itself, I don't know they felt too much the same overal and too punishing when you didn't memorize the rythm enough. I enjoyed the regular stages way more.
